The quietest moment of ULTRACE 2025 was a Le Mans car being pushed by hand. A dozen people in gloves leaned on a white BMW V12 LMR and rolled it into place, and across its bodywork, in big reflective letters, it said "WHAT I WANT". We've already told the story of the show in ULTRACE 2025 Wrocław. These are the postcards: thirteen short clips by One Breath Pictures, shot for the sound, and the cars our first story didn't have room for.
Jenny Holzer's BMW Art Car
This is the 15th BMW Art Car, made by the American artist Jenny Holzer in 1999 on a BMW V12 LMR, the open prototype that won Le Mans outright that year. Holzer covered it in her "truisms" in reflective foil instead of paint, so it would stay a working race car: on the rear wing it reads "Lack of charisma can be fatal". ULTRACE showed it next to a DELL-liveried V12 LMR, which you can see behind it in our clip, as part of BMW's Art Car World Tour for 50 years of Art Cars.

The BMW corner

Poland loves a BMW, and ULTRACE proves it. A BMW 8 Series of the E31 generation sat with its pop-ups open and every lamp in amber, low on a deep front lip. A burgundy E30 coupe posed on silver mesh wheels for a row of photographers. A silver E36 saloon, on deep-dish wheels and a windscreen banner, crawled past with its tyres tucked deep into the arches. And a group of white E46 3 Series drift cars in matching purple graphics stood together on the burnt-rubber drift area, one with its doors swung up.
Japan, the European way

The car we'd have taken home: a kaido racer in white, teal and orange stripes, number 33, with a deep chin spoiler, flared arches, a Japanese Yokohama plate and twin takeyari exhaust pipes rising behind it with star-shaped tips. Kaido racers come from Japan's 1970s and 80s highway racing style, and we didn't get close enough to confirm the model underneath. Then a bronze Nissan 300ZX of the Z31 generation, T-top and gold mesh wheels, filmed in one long, slow pass. And a white SW20 MR2 on polished deep-dish wheels: not the yellow MR2 from our first story, a second one.
Sideways and loud

The first clip is the drift show seen from the crowd at the barrier: smoke, a line of cars and a yellow one among them, too far away for us to name. Closer in, a teal 180SX with its lights half open and a white FC RX-7 rolled past the Ultrace PA drift area. A Silvia S15 on Polish plates with one enormous exhaust drew a crowd just by idling. A maroon Toyota Chaser JZX100 covered in GReddy, Valvoline and tribal graphics eased out of the line on chrome five-spokes, followed by a black drift car. And to close, a black BMW saloon we believe is an E90 3 Series disappeared into its own smoke in front of a packed bank of spectators, under a sign that read "Running From Nothing", the show's 2025 theme.
The postcard version
You can read about ULTRACE, but it makes more sense with the volume up. Turn it up, and if you missed the main event, start with the Judd V8 E36 M3.
